<p>In partnership with the <a href="https://mentalhealth.cityofnewyork.us/">Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health</a>, the <a href="https://jedfoundation.org/">JED Foundation</a> presents a series of parent workshops to normalize mental health discussions and offer strategies to promote parent and teen mental health.</p><p>The COVID-19 pandemic has led to myriad stressors in the lives of families due to illness and loss, changes in employment and finances, remote schooling and other disruptions. These challenges can increase the risk of emotional distress for teens and parents alike. And studies show that parent and child wellbeing are linked: parents coping with fear or worry, may have a harder time supporting their child’s mental health, and keeping a child safe in this public health environment may create additional stress for parents.</p><p>As schools and offices re-open in New York City, parents may be wondering how to safeguard their children’s emotional wellbeing, as well as their own.
