Emergency Funds for Undocumented People — NYSYLC

The NYSYLC was the first undocumented youth led organization in New York. They work to empower immigrant youth through leadership development, grassroots organizing, educational advancement, and self-expression. They have set up an emergency fund to support New York City undocumented youth and families whose livelihoods are being affected by COVID-19. Whether it’s from a decline in business for street vendors or being laid-off in domestic and restaurant jobs. They are reopening their request for funds for a limited time in order to support families who may be impacted by the virus at a later time. The new form allows for easier distribution of funds. Please share the application below with your guidance counselors and any undocumented families in your school community. Emergency Funds for Undocumented People — NYSYLC https://www.nysylc.org/undocufunds Additional information for families:

If they submitted a request before and were not approved they can reapply.

They are only providing one-time support at this time, so people who have already been selected should not reapply.

In order for them to process payments quicker they are now asking for additional information.

They are prioritizing single parent homes, small kids in the home, LGBTQ people, women-led homes, and people with disabilities.
