Eco-Fact of the Week -- with a Bonus Fact

The Environmental Club presents the Eco-Fact of the week for 9-28 to 10/2 --

Started in 2019, Distinctive Action is a Hong Kong-based company led by husband-and-wife innovator pair Devana Ng and Flavien Chaussegros who wished to create a biodegradable alternative for the single-use, disposable plastic bag. Their solution was the #INVISIBLEBAG, which takes on the appearance of a regular plastic bag, but unlike its opponent, can dissolve in water. Although more expensive to produce, Distinctive Action has since partnered up with numerous brands and restaurants in Hong Kong who advocate for the same goal of plastic waste reduction.

If you are interested in the #INVISIBLEBAG, you can visit Distinctive Action for more information. And as always, please help to preserve our resources and properly sort your trash!

Here's a BONUS fact:

The Plastic Pollution Coalition is a global organization that advocates for plastic pollution reduction by not simply recycling plastic (as most plastics are never actually recycled), but removing it completely from their lives.

One of their campaigns advises consumers to call out Amazon for its excessive shipping packaging. As the quantity of online purchases increase, so does the influx in disposable plastic. Please urge your online goods provider to practice sustainable goods production and delivery in our fragile climate.
