The Environmental Club presents the Eco Fact of the Week for the week of April 13-17 -- Eight states in the United States have banned single-use plastic bags: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New York, Oregon, and Vermont. New York’s plastic ban was passed in 2019 and recently came into effect in March of 2020. Plastic bag bans and fees passed by governments are an extremely important step in reducing single-use plastic waste. However, individual action, not just government action, is crucial as well; whenever you can, you should avoid purchasing or using single-use products. Help to preserve our resources and properly sort your trash!
