Dr. Maria Nedwidek-Moore shares that in AP Biology in the 2020-2021 school year, students completed Holiday Montages in the fall, and performed a series of biotechnology lab demonstrations on one day in December over zoom with Dr. Allison Mayle at the City Tech DNA Learning Center. Students presented and discussed restriction analysis and bacterial transformation data from last year to Ms. Fong in class in January. Also included are the Spring Montages from AP Bio and images of a visit with my former student Jason Mohabir, Stuy '17 who just finished Columbia with distinction and is pursuing the bioinformatics field. Jason talked about his award-winning work at Columbia doing CRISPR designs, and he is headed off to the Broad Institute in Cambridge, MA as a researcher. Jason talked about his trajectory from Stuyvesant to now, and answered lots of questions. Much appreciation to the Parent's Association for funding the labs.
