It’s time to create and submit artwork for the NYC Department of Education’s (DOE) Disability Pride Visual Arts Contest. The goal of the contest is to have students develop visual representations of what the ADA rally cry, “Nothing About Us Without Us,” means to them.
The DOE Disability Pride Visual Arts Contest celebrates the challenges and achievements of people with disabilities in their struggle for equity and equal access, opportunity, and inclusion. People with disabilities are proud of their identity and their accomplishments that resulted in the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The DOE invites all students and teachers to join in the celebration of Disability Pride through participation in the Visual Arts Contest.
