Mr. Stanislav Kats shares that Stuyvesant attended the Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament (HMMT) where our top team, Tin Man, finished 10th place nationally overall. Congrats to all! In the team round (the proof-based and proof-writing round), our team finished in 3rd place nationally - that is that best result that the NYC Math Team has had in more than a decade.

One of the members of Tin Man, Kimi Sun (11th grade), finished in the top 50 individually and is now invited to participate in HMIC, the Harvard-MIT Invitational Competition, a 4-hour, 5-problem Olympiad competition. Bravo!

Tin Man was comprised entirely of Stuyvesant students - Milan Haiman (12th), Matthew Kendall (11th), Kimi Sun (11th), Akash Das (11th), Ethan Joo (10th), Rishabh Das (9th), Max Vaysburd (10th), and Aidan Griffin (12th). (photos courtesy of Mr. Kats)
