Coach Mr. Moore shares congratulations to sophomore Simone Morden who took first place in the All Girls NYC Chess Championships Sunday with a perfect 4.0 score. Stuyvesant finished second overall, with 10th grader Sophie Zhao also contributing.
In November, at the New York State Girls Chess Championship, Stuyvesant took 3rd in the open section with sophomores Alexandra Lussie, Simone Morden, and Hema Vikas and 2nd in the Under 1600 section with Sophomores Abigail Yang, and Sophie Zhao, junior Suhana Kumar, and freshman Sophia Degregorio.
