CIEE, Ms. McAuliffe, and the Stuyvesant World Language Team are thrilled to announce that the Stuyvesant High School students listed below who participated in the summer 2021 Global Navigator High School Summer Abroad (HSSA) Language & Culture programs earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy, based on the results of their Avant STAMP 4S language proficiency test, which they took prior to arriving in their program locations, and again during the final week of their programs. Congratulations to our language learners!
Ms. McAuliffe will deliver any certificates received at Stuyvesant for our Global Seal recipients when we return from Spring Break.
Stuyvesant's Global Seal of Biliteracy Recipients:
About the Avant STAMP 4S Test:
Language assessment is an important part of CIEE HSSA Language & Culture programs. All HSSA Language & Culture participants complete the Avant STAMP (Standards-Based Measure of Proficiency) test prior to arriving in the program location. They take the STAMP test again during the final week of program. The STAMP pre- and post-tests help us place students in the appropriate language level and measure their growth in proficiency over the four-week CIEE program. The results also help CIEE measure—and improve—how effective the Language & Culture programs are.
About the Global Seal of Biliteracy:
The Global Seal of Biliteracy is a credential that celebrates multilingualism and expands future opportunities for its recipients by showcasing their language skills to any school or employer across state lines and national borders, with a unique serial-numbered document.
CIEE has partnered with the Global Seal of Biliteracy to award the Global Seal to any HSSA Language & Culture participant that earns a score of 5 (Intermediate-Mid) or higher in all four testing categories.
Congratulation again to Stuyvesant's first Global Seal of Biliteracy recipients!!!
