The senior Caucus has proudly announced this year’s Commencement Speaker will be Circuit Judge, Denny Chin, Stuy Alumnus 1971. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton. President Bill Clinton nominated him to his first judgeship, and President Obama nominated him to his second one. He was on President Obama's short-list for Supreme Court nominees. He presided over the U.S. v. Madoff trial. The faculty speaker will be Mr. James Cocoros of our Mathematics Department. Fun Fact about Mr. Cocoros, or as the students fondly refer to him, ‘Coco’, is that not only is he one of Stuyvesant’s premier Calculus teachers, but Mr. Cocoros also has his Juris Doctorate and passed the bar exam!
