BSL & ASPIRA Celebrate Cinco de Mayo Friday, May 10th!

<div> <p>This week, <strong>Stuy BSL (Black Students League</strong>) and <strong>ASPIRA</strong> celebrated <strong>Cinco de Mayo</strong> with a celebration of history, unity and culture. Alumnus ’89, <strong>Erik Paulino</strong> was their guest speaker. Alumni, staff, students and parents gathered for this annual celebration and dinner in the student cafeteria.  Check the BSL/ASPIRA <a href="https://www.facebook.com/stuyaspirabsl/">Facebook</a> and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/stuy_aspira_bsl/?hl=en">Instagram</a> pages this week for photos! <em>(photo courtesy of Mr. Colon)</em></p> <p><strong>Cinco de Mayo</strong> was celebrated by Stuy’s <strong>Black Student’s League and ASPIRA</strong> last Friday. <strong>Mr. Ramirez</strong> and <strong>Mr. Colon</strong> along with <strong>Mr. Contreras</strong> spoke and special Alumnus guest speaker, <strong>Erik Paulino</strong> ’89.</p> <p>Mr. Angel Colon shares the following additional information about Cinco de Mayo and photos from the event.<br/>Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth of May, is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.
