Beyond Access Webinars: 2/9 @7:30pm- Helping Children Cope with Distress during the Pandemic

Join the Beyond Access Series, a weekly series of webinars provided by the Special Education team in partnership with experts in the field. 

Topics include executive cognitive functioning, literacy, social emotional learning and more. Presenters provide strategies and resources that families can use to support their children's learning and overall well-being at home. 

Webinars are held every Tuesday at 7:30 PM through the end of May. Interpretation is available upon request. Past webinars are available on YouTube and can be viewed with English or translated captions. Families can register on Eventbrite. The webinars are also listed on the NYC DOE website and calendar

The next session, Helping Children Cope with Distress during the Pandemic, is this coming Tuesday February 9th at 7:30 PM. Dr. David Schonfeld, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician and Director of the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles will provide this presentation – the second in a series of five sessions. He will share some of the common adjustment problems children may experience during the pandemic and offer practical advice on how to provide support..
