The Goethe-Institut invited the BronxBerlinConnection, a youth program which facilitates exchange between youth in the US and Germany, to come meet with and perform for students. Members of the group performed dances, rapped and sang for the group in German and talked about social issues which have inspired them to express themselves through these mediums. The Stuy students as well as the members of the BronxBerlinConnection had the opportunity to ask questions of each other, which gave all of the participants the unique opportunity to exchange directly with youth from another culture. It was very interesting for the Stuy students to hear about life in Berlin and hip-hop culture in Germany, as well as to experience rap music in German. (photo courtesy of Ms. McAuliffe)
