Saturday, Stuyvesant held a Parent Meeting for Bengali-speaking Families in Jackson Heights, Queens. Assistant Principals, Ms. Casey Pedrick and Ms. Jennifer Suri, School Counselor Ms. Shakira Rhiman, SPARK Program Coordinator, Angel Colon and Director of Family Engagement, Dina Ingram presented to parents. We were also joined by Stuy Alumni, Raiyan Nafee ’16 and Fatin Ishraq ’16 as well as seniors Afia Anjum, Arnob Haque and Zaakirah Rahman who shared their experiences with powerful impact. The topics discussed were: Understanding the College Application Process; Advanced Placement Courses and Stuyvesant's Course Sequencing; and How to Help your Child Succeed.
