ARISTA Applications Due on February 25th 10pm

ARISTA is Stuyvesant High School’s honor society, through which they strive to be role models and future leaders in our community. The group of roughly 250 juniors and seniors espouses the four pillars of scholarship, character, service, and leadership by working with numerous volunteer organizations throughout NYC and serving the Stuyvesant community. By engaging in one-on-one peer tutoring, helping out at AIS sessions, editing essays online, and submitting study guides, ARISTA members give back to the Stuyvesant community and are an invaluable resource to the student body. ARISTA is a great opportunity to gain experience volunteering and tutoring as well as a chance to develop leadership skills through committees.

Applications are now available to join ARISTA at the following linkapply.stuyarista.org. Applications are due February 25th at 10pm, and applicants can expect a response in early April (followed by an appeals process for those who wish to contest their results). Prospective applicants can create an account at apply.stuyarista.org, and must be current sophomores and juniors with a minimum 92 overall GPA.

When reviewing your application, your community involvement will be considered, as well as responses to three essay questions of your choice out of five total prompts. Although ARISTA is open to those who have service experience, those who haven’t but would like to start are also welcomed. All evaluations are conducted objectively and anonymously by the Executive Council with the help of faculty advisor, Ms. JoAnn Mahoney.
