AP US students attend the 2023 Lincoln Book Prize event

Mr. Robert Sandler's 20 year partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History enabled students to attend he Lincoln Book Prize at the Harvard Club during Spring Break! Here are some photos (courtesy of Ms. Madden, who went in Mr. Sandler's place). The students all received autographed copies of the two books that won the prize. AP US History students loved getting to meet famous historians like David Blight and John Meacham and eating dinner in the elegant Harvard club. Samaria Noel had the honor of being one of the presenters! Samaria is pictured in the green sweater with Jonathan W. White author of A House Built by Slaves: African American Visitors to the Lincoln White House.

Here is a link with info on the award and the winning authors (each historian won $50,000).
