AP Registration & Payment Instructions Fall 2022

AP Registration & Payment Instructions Fall 2022

Registration for AP Exams opened Wednesday, October 17, 2022. The deadline to register for AP exams is Monday, November 7, 2022.

Please note, the schedule students see on their College Board accounts may not be the schedule that Stuyvesant will follow. We will post a schedule for AP Exams at Stuyvesant High School on the School Website shortly. Dates are subject to change if necessary, based on changing circumstances and factors. We will update you with any changes.

Stuyvesant High School only has space to administer AP Exams to students on our current roster. There are no exceptions.

AP exam registration is required for students who desire to sit for AP exam(s) and can only be completed by students at myap. Payment for AP exams is a separate step from AP exam registration. Payments for AP exams are made through the AP Examination Payment Portal and can be made by students or parents/guardians. Students will be able to sit for AP exams only if they have registered at myap and they or their parents have paid for the exam on the AP Examination Payment Portal (if applicable).

Students should have already received registration codes from their teachers. If a join code is needed by a student enrolled in an AP course, they should ask their teacher for this join code.

Note: Registration for Spring single-semester AP courses will not open until February 2023.

Payments for AP exams are collected electronically only. AP Examination Payment Portal Cancellation and ‘no show’ fees for registrants will not be waived this year. Families may cancel their registration through their College Board My AP account through Tuesday, November 11, 2022 at 11pm without incurring fees. The cancellation fee is $40 per exam after November 15, 2022. Please pay for your AP exams by Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11pm.

NOTE: Students who qualify for economic hardship have historically had their AP exams fees paid for entirely by the NYC Department of Education (NYC DOE). Students/families can complete the Family Income Inquiry Form to apply for hardship support.

Families received emails indicating their current AP Exam Fee Reduction Status at the top of this letter. The source of the information is also noted. There is NO COST to anyone with the status "Reduced Fees". If your status indicates this -- do not go to the payment portal; register for the exam only.

Families with notations of "Full Priced" and the source "No application" may fill out the form online at myschoolapps.com to apply to ratify your status. Otherwise, the exams are $97 each for those noted as "Full Priced". Ratifications take several days to reflect changes in the school’s system. You may contact Ms. Fanelli at gfanelli@schools.nyc.gov for updates on applications filed at myschoolapps.com.

Why does every student receive these instructions even if they are not currently enrolled in an AP course?

Students who are not enrolled in an AP course at Stuyvesant who wish to register for an AP Exam and self-student may register for one (1) exam apart from AP courses corresponding to those they are already enrolled in subject to Department Chair approval as well as capacity as determined by the Testing Coordinator. This exception request must be filed using the Request for AP Exam Exception form. This exception request must be filed using the Request for AP Exam Exception form no later than November 7, 2022 by 3:30pm.

If approved for the exception, the student will receive the join code from Dr. Haber directly to register at myap by Wednesday, November 9, 2022 . Students will not receive a code from a teacher. Following receipt of the join code, students or their parents/guardians must make payment (if applicable) through the AP Examination Payment Portal by November 11, 2022.
