The Department of Social Services (DSS) is sponsoring CUNY’s annual Citizenship Now! event on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 10am – 2:30pm at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (524 W 59th Street New York, NY 10019).
During this event, legal staff and volunteers will interview about 250 legal permanent residents to confirm they are eligible for citizenship, assist them in completing their N-400 applications for naturalization and help them request a fee waiver, if eligible. Staff will also make photocopies of the applicant’s supporting documents to be included in their application packet. DSS staff will provide information on DSS/HRA programs and services as well as assist eligible participants with obtaining their Medicaid letters.
In light of expected fee increases and a revamp of the citizenship test, CUNY Citizenship Now!, Dominicanos USA, and Univision are holding this special Subway Series edition of their monthly events.
